Accessibility

Our commitment

Al Anwar Jewels for Gold and Silver Manufacturing wants everyone to be able to browse our pieces and contact us, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or who need reduced motion. We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. We have not had the site independently audited, so we do not claim full conformance.

What we have done

• A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
• Links, buttons and form fields show a clear outline when you move to them by keyboard.
• Pop-ups such as the cart, sign-in and piece details are native dialogs: focus stays inside them, and the Escape key closes them.
• Photographs of our pieces have descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• The animated headline and the changing photos on the home page stay still if your device is set to reduce motion, and the headline is read as one complete sentence. The workshop video on our story page can be paused.
• Legal and help pages use proper headings and a contents list, and are laid out to work on small screens.

Known limitations

We know the following are not yet as good as they should be.

• The photographs and videos are not captioned or described beyond a short description. If you need more detail about a piece, such as its weight, size or finish, ask us and we will describe it to you.
• We have checked the colours of the main text, but not every piece of small text on every page, so some may be harder to read for people with low vision.
• The site is available in English only for now.
• We have not yet tested the site with screen readers across different devices and browsers.

We are working on these, and will update this page as they improve.

Tell us about a problem

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please tell us. Say which page it was on and what happened, and the device or assistive technology you were using if you can. We aim to reply within two working days and will suggest another way to get what you need straight away. See also our Contact page.
